First App - Flashlight Rejected

A year ago I have applied for Apple developer account but did not had a chance to work on iOS.
I had so many ideas yet all seem to need big effort.

So instead I tried to start simple and develop a flashlight app, as there were already a bunch of flashlight apps on market, yet they were not simple...
Do not reinvent the wheel!
With some coding and checking tutorials on web, I developed the flashlight app and applied for review.
One week after Waiting for Review, got a response!.

"We recognize that there is a wide range in the quality of flashlight apps and that yours may be of better quality than many others already available. Or, it may include features or characteristics that distinguish it as more than just a flashlight app - or even something other than a flashlight app. But your app prominently features flashlight functionality, which classifies it as a flashlight app. And we simply have enough flashlight apps in the App Store."

Yes I did not read the Apple app store Review Guidelines, yet I tried my chance.
When checking on net I see that there are also similar cases.

Even if app was rejected, it was indeed a good experince to learn App submission process, icon making , even translating your description to Chinese / Japanese etc...
For those to check out app there are already a vast number of tutorials and codes on the wild.

I intend to write a tutorial about my app.

Business Lessons Learnt:
* Read Apple app store Review Guidelines well and find an idea that has a market.

Development Lessons Learnt:
* Learn to use Xcode
* Using Gimp to create different app icons
* Learn to use and test in simulator with different hardware types (3.5 inch, 4 inch, ipad..)
* Integrate an app to both iPhone and iPad with different functionality (led flash on iPhone, turn screen white if not supported)
* Integrate adWhirl ads on an application
* Learn app submission process and tools.
